Geek Part IV: Welcome To 2010

Okay, Happy New Year and all that.

2009 was a relatively quiet year of blogging, with only 50 entries in 12 months, and I imagine the paucity of posts will continue in the first quarter of the new year. I've been wondering if the whole blogging thing is worth it any more. It's not that I don't have anything to talk about; it's just that I really don't have time at the moment. Besides, practically no-one is listening, and I've always disliked people who mumble to themselves. More on that later though. For now, here's hoping that 2010 is as great a year as the last one was - and hopefully much more productive from a career and creative standpoint.

Belated best wishes for 2010. My own blogosphere, which used to reward if not compel daily exploration, has shrunk from a planet to a moon. I blame Facebook.

These days I suppose blogging for me is about trusting that when I have something I want or need to say there's at least one person listening, but hoping there are more. I can't expect moonshots if I don't try to shine...

Thanks for stopping by as always, David. I agree with your Facebook finger-pointing, with the caveat that the desire to escape the clutches of social networking is one of the major reasons I keep this blog running (as I've touched on in previous posts).

I still make regular visits to your LJ, and continue to enjoy the commentary and wit therein. Please keep it up for as long as you enjoy doing it!
